It’s not every day that a child’s birthday party is attended by two thrash metal legends—then again, it’s not every child that fronts a set of traditional punk and hardcore tracks to celebrate another year on earth.
Revel Ian, the 12-year-old son of Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian recently did just that for his birthday bash this past weekend, with Metallica bassist/vocalist Robert Trujillo flying in just for the occasion. Trujillo‘s daughter Lullah sat in on drums for that set, with the covers ensemble referring to themselves as the ‘minorjerkbrains‘. Azi Bendersky and Scott himself completed the lineup.
