Update: June 15th, 2023 04:13 PM:

Universal Music have now announced that they have distanced themselves from Rammstein in light of the recent allegations made against the band’s vocalist Till Lindemann and the ongoing probe into them. Per The New York Times, the label revealed that they would be suspending marketing promotional activities related to the band and their current touring. A spokeswoman for the label told the aforementioned publication, “The accusations against Till Lindemann have shocked us.”

Original Story:

Following several allegations being made public recently surrounding Rammstein‘s backstage ‘Row 0’ parties that are booked around their live shows, German authorities have reportedly opened a probe into the industrial metal band’s vocalist Till Lindemann.

While rumors of backstage debauchery have stirred among the band’s community for some time now, various allegations cropped up last month against Lindemann and members of the band’s crew.

The allegations gained traction last month amid a woman’s claims of her drink being drugged/spiked at one of those parties organized by the band’s camp. Allegations of sexual misconduct, drug usage and more at those parties have since been made by several other women.

Per those claims, female members of the band’s audience were being scouted by members of the band’s crew and invited backstage to potentially partake in sexual relations with Lindemann and select members of the band’s crew. It was claimed that drugs and alcohol were readily available at those events.

Speaking via his lawyers, Lindemann has denied the allegations of misconduct and such as being “without exception untrue.”

AFP report that authorities in Berlin issued the following statement in regards to their interest in Lindemann:

“Preliminary proceedings have been initiated against Till Lindemann on allegations relating to sexual offences and the distribution of narcotics.”

Speaking earlier this month amid the growing wave of allegations, Rammstein themselves commented:

“The publications of the last few days have caused irritation and questions among the public and especially among our fans. The allegations hit us all very hard and we take them extremely seriously.

We say to our fans: It is important to us that you feel comfortable and safe at our shows – in front of and behind the stage.

We condemn any kind of transgression and ask you:
do not engage in public prejudice of any kind against those who have made allegations. You have a right to your point of view.

But we, the band, also have a right – namely not to be prejudiced either.”

AFP report that further ‘Row 0’ parties have been cancelled at the band’s upcoming German shows.
