A stream of the newly remastered version of Pelican‘s b-side track “Ran Amber” has been given a digital release. That track will appear as a bonus song on the deluxe reissue of their sophomore album, 2005’s “The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw“. Thrill Jockey Records have a July 21st release date scheduled for that outing.
Speaking of sharing the track now, the band commented:
“So stoked to share “Ran Amber,” one of the rarities from the forthcoming deluxe reissue of The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw, out July 21 on Thrill Jockey Records. “Ran Amber” is an early version of the album cut “Red Ran Amber” recorded at the same session that we recorded the EP version of “March Into The Sea” in 2004. We eventually finished the song and mixed it in 2005 for our split 12” with MONO, but it has largely been unavailable digitally.”
Look for the group out on the road in August playing the following shows with Upper Wilds:
08/09 Indianapolis, IN – HiFi
08/10 Louisville, KY – Whirling Tiger
08/11 Detroit, MI – Smalls
08/12 Chicago, IL – Metro (feat. Uniform)
