Twitching Tongues have returned from a hiatus of sorts with a ‘new’ release. Arriving alongside their re-emergence is a newly re-mixed and remastered version of their debut album “Sleep Therapy“. The band’s own Taylor Young gave this collection of songs a new mix, while Brad Boatright oversaw the mastering.
In addition to putting an updated shine on the original “Sleep Therapy” release, the effort also compiles early demo material and the band’s covers of Pentagram‘s “Forever My Queen” and Type O Negative‘s “Gravitational Constant: G = 6.67 x 10^-8 cm^-3 gm^-1 sec^-2“. A previously unreleased “Sleep Therapy” era track, “Somnus“, is also included.
Vocalist Coilin Young commented of this revamped set:
“Written and recorded when I was 18 years old, released two LONG years later, we had evolved so much as a band and as people by the time people were finally hearing Sleep Therapy, that it took over ten years for us to appreciate and understand it.
All we can do is thank anybody still with us and still supporting this band and album. We’re here to stay… in our own strange way.”
