Anthrax have delivered some more crushing news for their European fans. The East Coast thrash metal legends have once again scrapped their plans to tour overseas this summer, citing logistical and scheduling issues.
Last August saw Anthrax also scrap their plans to tour Europe late last year. According to the band at the time, inflation and the volatility of fuel costs had tripled the costs of the original budget they had set for the trek.
Speaking of this latest cancellation, the band offered the following statement today, April 20th:
“To all our friends in Europe… Due to a series of logistical and scheduling issues, we won’t be able to make it to Europe this summer for the festivals we were set to perform at. We’re really disappointed about this, and want you to know that a solid – and overdue – European tour is a priority for us.
Lots of exciting things are in the pipeline, so stay tuned.”
At least one member of the group will be overseas in the coming month. Drummer Charlie Benante will continue to sit behind the kit for Pantera on their reunion touring activities. In other news, Anthrax are expected to commence recording their long-awaited new full-length album this month.
