Dave Grohl Shares Praise For Melvins, Thanks Them For Giving Him Nirvana’s Phone Number

It would appear that Melvins vocalist/guitarist Buzz Osborne and Foo Fighters vocalist/guitarist (and ex-Nirvana drummer) Dave Grohl have mended fences over the past few years. You may recall that Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne has had a conflicted relationship with Grohl.

In 2016, Osborne recounted his tale of disappointment with Grohl.

With Melvins currently celebrating their 40th anniversary, they recently shared a tribute to their legacy apparently penned by Grohl himself. It reads as follows:

“Arguably one of the most influential artists of the past 40 years, the Melvins have still never relented from being the heaviest band of all time. From the day I dropped the needle on their 1987 debut album ‘Gluey Porch Treatments‘, I’ve been inspired by their signature, staggered feel, much like countless other bands who look up to them as the kings of the NorthWest music scene.

Oh, and thank you for giving me Nirvana‘s phone number.”

In addition to recently dropping a re-recorded version of their debut 7″, Melvins will be on the road across the coming months playing the below dates:
