A Skylit Drive will be ringing in the 15th anniversary of their 2008 debut album “Wires…And The Concept Of Breathing” on the road this year. Things got a bit chaotic in the post-hardcore outfit’s world amid the pandemic, with an apparent trademark dispute at one point leading to two incarnations of the band.
Vocalist Michael Jagmin currently appears to have retained the trademark to the band’s official name, and thus will be fronting this upcoming endeavor. He filed a trademark infringement suit against the band’s former lead guitarist Nick Miller last year over usage of the name. It is not yet clear if that matter has been fully resolved.
That dispute emerged when an early incarnation of the band’s lineup featuring Miller, former vocalist Jordan Blake and more intended to reunite and tour under the band’s moniker on their debut EP, “She Watched The Sky“.
Social media takedowns, moniker changes and more followed, with Jagmin apparently having come out on top. Guitarists Jon Kintz, Louie Caycoya and drummer Casey “KC” Marotta join Jagmin in the modern day lineup of A Skylit Drive.
The first run of anniversary shows will find the band out with Scarlett O’Hara and Sunsleep and can be found below. A Skylit Drive commented:
“Fifteen years ago the history of A Skylit Drive was set on a trajectory none could predict. Years have come and gone but what’s undeniable is the impact ‘Wires and the Concept of Breathing’ has had and still has on the legacy of A Skylit Drive. We are beyond excited to celebrate this album in its entirety, and how it’s never been performed before.”
