Extol have confirmed their touring lineup for their upcoming live return in the United States. This past week saw the group announced for the 2023 edition of the ‘Furnace Fest‘, marking the first stateside show from the Christian progressive metal band in roughly 18 years.
While former guitarist/bassist Tor Magne Glidje and guitarist Christer Espevoll will be back in the fold for that performance, vocalist Peter Espevoll won’t be present. Elisha Mullins (Fleshkiller, The Burial, etc.) has instead been tapped to fill-in behind the mic.
A statement issued by the band earlier today (January 22nd) reads as follows:
“As some of you may have noticed, we’re playing Furnace Fest 2023. We are excited to finally return to the US after all these years! The last Extol show over the pond was in 2005 on the Blueprint tour.
Times change and so does the line up. This is the 2023 Extol live edition:
David Husvik
Christer Espevoll
Ole Børud
Tor Magne Glidje
Elisha MullinsAs you can see, Peter is not part of the line up. We obviously wanted him on board! Though very unfortunate, Peter has other priorities and obligations, and we fully respect it.
That being said, we’re happy to welcome Elisha Mullins (Fleshkiller) from the extended Extol famliy as our live vocalist.
See you in Alabama in September!”
This year’s ‘Furnace Fest‘ will be held at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL from September 23rd to 25th.
