Foo Fighters vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl and musician/producer Greg Kurstin have begun rolling out the video footage for their 2023 edition of the ‘Hanukkah Sessions’. This time around, the pair took to the Largo at The Coronet in Los Angeles, CA to play a covers and guest-filled set, which they filmed for this series. That performance took place on December 05th and ran as follows:
“Spinning Wheel” (Blood, Sweat & Tears cover) (feat. Judd Apatow)
“Get The Party Started” (P!nk cover) (feat. P!nk)
“The Things We Do For Love” (10cc cover (feat. Inara George)
“At Seventeen” (Janis Ian cover) (feat. Violet Grohl)
“E-Pro” (Beck cover) (feat. Beck)
“Heads Will Roll” (Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover) (feat. Karen O)
“The Spirit Of Radio” (Rush cover) (feat. Jack Black)
“We Love L.A.” (Randy Newman cover)
“Just A Gigolo/”I Ain’t Got Nobody” (David Lee Roth cover) (feat. Kyle Gass)
Grohl and Kurstin commented:
“A little blood and plenty of schvitz went into this year’s Hanukkah Sessions— but the only tears you’ll be shedding will be tears of nachas when you hear Judd Apatow sing “Spinning Wheel” by Blood, Sweat & (No) Tears!”
That concert was staged to the Anti-Defamation League. With Hanukkah having begun yesterday (December 18th), the pair shared the first in what presumably will be the daily releases of videos from that set. Below you can watch them run through Blood, Sweat & Tears‘ 1968 hit “Spinning Wheel” with Apatow guesting.
