Deftones Are “Chipping Away” At Some New Music

Alternative metal favorites Deftones have been putting together new songs for the follow-up to their ninth studio album, 2020’s “Ohms“. In a recent discussion with, the band’s vocalist/guitarist Chino Moreno confirmed that progress is being made on new material.

The acclaimed frontman said of that:

“We’re just chipping away on some new music — those [other] guys are, at least, at the moment. We have some sporadic shows over the next couple of years, or a year or so, whatever. But for the most part, yeah, we’re just kind of winding down and taking some time off, for the most part.”

New music from Moreno did arrive earlier this month via his Crosses (†††) side project. That outfit finds him teamed with Shaun Lopez of Far, etc. fame. That duo recently dropped their new EP “PERMANENT.RADIANT“, marking the band’s first proper release of new material since 2014.
