With avant-garde metal innovators Mr. Bungle currently still out reliving their early thrash metal roots on the road, their latest live collaboration seems like a no brainer. The outfit returned to the road this month for an ongoing run of Latin American shows.
Those shows marked the first live appearances for vocalist Mike Patton since his pandemic era mental health issues and struggles with alcoholism caused him to cancel the band’s previous shows, as well as planned concerts from Faith No More.
Amid Mr. Bungle‘s set at ‘Knotfest Chile‘ yesterday, December 11th, the group were joined onstage by Sepultura vocalist Derrick Green and guitarist Andreas Kisser. Together they jammed through that Brazilian thrash metal outfit’s 1993 single, “Territory“.
Mike Patton and Sepultura of course have a long shared history together, that has included Patton guesting on Sepultura‘s gold-certified landmark album “Roots“. They’ve also shared the stage together numerous times before as well, among other connections.
