Last night (December 04th) saw a special guest join alternative metal icons Deftones onstage amid their set closing track. The group were joined by none other than Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera for a performance of their 1997 track “Headup” together.
That song was originally penned as a tribute to Dana Wells, the late stepson of Max, who helped introduce Cavalera to the Deftones. The track would also help coin the name of Cavalera‘s then fledgling new project, which he continues to front to this day.

Both Deftones and Soulfly were out touring on the ‘Good Things‘s festival in Australia with this particular show having taken place at the Brisbane Showgrounds in Brisbane.
