This past Sunday saw thrash metal’s reigning champs in Metallica play a set consisting of their early material. The legendary quartet hit the stage at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL to pay tribute to the late Jon and Marsha Zazula. That couple signed the band to Megaforce Records in the early 80s and went on to release their first two albums, while also assuming the management duties of countless heavy acts as well.
A portion of the proceeds from the show were donated towards MusiCares. Several days removed from that November 06th performance, the band have now released official audio and video of it. You can get the audio in digital and CD formats here, while the following pro-shot footage of “Phantom Lord” from the set has also been shared.
The setlist for that performance ran as follows:
“Creeping Death”
“Ride The Lightning”
“Motorbreath”
“No Remorse”
“Trapped Under Ice”
“The Call Of Ktulu”
“Phantom Lord”
“Am I Evil?” (Diamond Head cover)
“Metal Militia”
“For Whom The Bell Tolls”
“Whiplash”
“Fade To Black”
“Seek & Destroy”
Encore:
“Fight Fire With Fire”
“Blitzkrieg” (Blitzkrieg cover)
“Hit The Lights”
