Iron Maiden's Spitfire Plane Stage Prop Suffered A Malfunction During Last Night's Show In Worcester, MA

It’s been an eventful tour of North America for British metal legends Iron Maiden and last night’s (October 17th) show in Worcester, MA was no exception. In proper circumstances, live performances of “Aces High“, the band’s 1984 ode to aerial combat, feature a near life-size prop of the beloved World War II British fighter plane, the Supermarine Spitire. When it all goes off according to plan (as seen in the below fan-filmed footage from earlier this month), it manages to elevate the song substantially, buzzing over the band’s heads amid the song.

However, in the case of last night, a malfunction left the prop little more than a dangling distraction. You can watch how that played out below. The group are currently winding down the final leg of their North American trek with Within Temptation opening. The remaining dates include:

10/19 Elmont Park, NY – UBS Arena
10/21 Newark, NJ – Prudential Center
10/23 Washington, DC – Capital One Arena
10/25 Greensboro, NC – Greensboro Coliseum
10/27 Tampa, FL – Amalie Arena
