The official music video for “Like A Stone“, the 2003 single from supergroup Audioslave, has officially joined the 1 billion views club. That band saw late Soundgarden vocalist/guitarist Chris Cornell join forces with 3/4th of Rage Against The Machine (guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk.)
That track served as the second single to launch from the band’s self-titled 2002 debut album, which itself went on to attain 3x multi-platinum status. “Like A Stone” was certified gold by the RIAA back in December of 2005.
Other metal and rock tracks to have hit the 1 billion views milestone on YouTube include AC/DC‘s “Thunderstruck“; Metallica‘s “Nothing Else Matters“; Guns N’ Roses‘ “Sweet Child O’ Mine“; Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit“; System Of A Down‘s “Chop Suey!“; Linkin Park‘s “In The End” and “Numb” and Evanescence‘s “Bring Me To Life“.
