The pandemic years withstanding, there’s a good chance that Primus vocalist/bassist Les Claypool will be ringing in New Year’s Eve while onstage. It’s a long-running tradition for the decorated alternative metal oddity, and one that he will continue this year.
This time around he’ll be performing back-to-back sets at the JaM Cellars Ballroom in Napa, CA with his Les Claypool’s Bastard Jazz side project. In addition to percussionist Mike Dillon (Critters Buggin, Les Claypool’s Fancy Band, etc.) and saxophonist Skerik (Critters Buggin, etc.), this pair of shows will find drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Sting) sitting in.
