SpiritWorld Premiere NSFW Music Video For The Title Track Of Their Newly Announced Album "Deathwestern"

SpiritWorld, the self-described ‘death western’ band, have launched a NSFW music video directed by Todd Hailstone for their new single “Deathwestern“. That song is the title track to the group’s next album, which Century Media have slated for a November 25th release.

The band’s mastermind Stu Folsom commented:

“Finally. I spent the last two years of my life working on this album in my free time. The video for ‘Deathwestern‘ is premiering live in 10 minutes on Century Media’s YouTube. New ALBUM preorder is live NOW on our webstore and it is insane.

I need to say thanks to my band and crew. Thank you to Sam for capturing the magic. Thank you to Todd for bringing the gore and the gun-smoke. Thanks to James, Piper and Kat for helping me with the artwork. Thank you to the teams at AGI, Century Media, 5B, Panda, Cosa Nostra and Check Your Head.

Thanks most of all to Jen for putting up with a complete psychopath hellbent on making a record that could stand up to “Arise”, letting me turn our garage and office into a merch store and gear locker, taking up all the curb parking with not one but TWO hoopty tour vans aaaaand a trailer and then STILL jumping on planes and smelly van tours with us. Without your love and support, this would not be possible or worth it.

I’m still shocked this became the title track considering the song is about a train hopping serial killer, murdering men across the dust bowl before eventually finding his faith and becoming The Heretic Butcher. It still cracks me up that of all the songs, my boy Mike Gitter loves this one the most and called me and said, “Look Stu, I’m a lyric guy. THIS is a single!” Amazing.

He also elaborated further on the single, stating:

“I started writing our new album right when I finished ‘Pagan Rhythms‘. At that point, I had been playing guitar everyday for about a year and it was no joke the highlight of my days. Just banger riff after banger riff jumping out of the Viper Blood Tele.

It took six months to get four songs together that I thought could stand up to Pagan. Then I knew I had another full length. This was the 4th song I wrote and it became the title track and our partner in crime and A&R extraordinaire Mike Gitter‘s favorite. When we finished tracking, I vividly remember getting chills.

The intro whammys are 100% intentional White Zombie worship. ‘La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1‘ was SUCH an important record for me. From samples, to groove, to incorporating horror into metal… definitely one of the most influential albums of my youth. I’m following that blueprint still. Always have.”
