Former HIM vocalist Ville Valo has set a January 13th release date for the debut solo album from his VV project. That record, “Neon Noir“, will be out on January 13th through Heartagram Records/UMG/Spinefarm.

Speaking previously of the record, Valo offered:

“‘Neon Noir‘ is a sonic step-by-step guide on how to survive, and perhaps even enjoy, the realm of VV with its abundance of things that go bump in the night. It’s a teary mascara marathon between Robert Smith and Ozzy, with a dash of hope.”

Neon Noir” track listing:

01 – “Echolocate Your Love
02 – “Run Away From The Sun
03 – “Neon Noir
04 – “Loveletting
05 – “The Foreverlost
06 – “Baby Lacrimarium
07 – “Salute The Sanguine
08 – “In Trenodia
09 – “Heartful Of Ghosts
10 – “Saturnine Saturnalia
11 – “Zener Solitaire
12 – “Vertigo Eyes

Speaking further of this forthcoming opus in a newly published cover story over at Kerrang!, Valo offered laughingly:

“Doing this album, and doing it the way I did it, gave me a chance to reflect, in a way, or to have a different perspective of who I am or what I want to do and what I have done and what can be done better, and so forth, Which then ended up being basically doing exactly the same thing I had before. So, nothing’s new under the sun.”

Pre-orders for the record are available here. Thus far two singles have seen a release ahead of time, including “Echolocate Your Love” and “Loveletting“. Speaking to Kerrang! about the below touring plans for the album, Valo offered:

“It’s going to be half-and-half new stuff and HIM stuff. It’s not as if we’ll just play ‘Buried Alive By Love‘ as an encore and that’s it. It’s a continuation of what I’ve done in the past and, you know, what might happen next. Basically I’m just doing exactly what all the rock’n’rollers are doing. The only thing I’m not doing these days is going topless – you know, by that I mean older gentleman behaving like they’re 20 and cool.”
