This past January saw the annual Birmingham, AL event, ‘Furnace Fest‘ move ahead with a new logo design (see above left), updating it throughout their social media presence. That design has recently made its way to the eyes of Fear Factory, etc. guitarist Dino Cazares, who has had no shortage in dealing with logos similar to that of his own band over the years.
Speaking via Twitter, Cazares took to social media to discuss the matter of the perceived similarities of the logo. You can see some of his comments on that matter below:
Thanx for looking out for us. Yes that logo is Digimortal logo Ill have my people got on that https://t.co/e8SzOgXSDQ

It was brought to my attention that these logos are to similar. Do u all think that @FurnaceFest logo is to similar to @FearFactory Digimortal logo ? Do u all think this is enough for a cease and desist letter? pic.twitter.com/dWycy73Eh7

Yes I own the copyrights to all our logos, I wouldn’t bring this up if I didn’t https://t.co/zz6HgdCREE

Mike Ziemer, who is a partner in the ‘Furnace Fest‘ event via Third String Entertainment, commented on one of Cazares‘ posts, offering:
There’s no confusion and the logo that Fear Factory uses currently isn’t even remotely close. Also we are 3 weeks away and we change the logo every year so would be a super pointless thing to do. I promise there’s no confusion between a well known legacy act and the fest.
