Flannel Nation Festival

90s Alternative Rock Fest ‘Flannel Nation’ (Sugar Ray, Everclear, Filter, Etc.) Cancelled

This weekend’s planned ‘Flannel Nation Festival‘ has officially been cancelled. The event was set to be held at the Port Of Los Angeles in San Pedro, CA this Saturday, August 13th and find the likes of 90s alternative rock acts Sugar Ray, Everclear, Soul Asylum, Filter, Cracker, Sponge sharing the stage with openers Star Zero and X Wire.

Sugar Ray, Everclear, Candlebox and Filter announced their exit from the festival prior to today’s (August 09th) official cancellation, with Everclear stating in part: “It has been brought to our attention within the past week that the event organizers of ‘Flannel Nation Festival‘ in San Pedro, CA, scheduled for this Saturday, August 13th, do not have the adequate means to provide the level of experience our fans expect and deserve while attending an Everclear show. With this in consideration, we have decided to pull out of the festival.”

Everclear also stated that they are planning a show of their own in the area. The aforementioned cancellations followed an apparent August 05th decision to change the venue for the fest. Earlier today, the festival’s organizers officially pulled the plug for now, stating:

“We regret to announce that due to ongoing problems and logistical setbacks, putting on Flannel Nation as intended has become infeasible, therefore we are forced to make the tough decision to cancel this weekend’s event. Our goal is to retool and reschedule the event and tickets will be honored for the new date when announced.”
