Reissues are planed for Zozobra, the side project of late Cave In/Old Man Gloom bassist/vocalist Caleb Scofield. The band’s 2007 debut album “Harmonic Tremors“, which saw Scofield paired with his Old Man Gloom bandmate Santos Montano and more, along with their 2008 sophomore album “Bird Of Prey“, which saw Aaron Harris (ex-Isis, etc.) join the fold, will back on digital service providers this Friday, August 05th via Profound Lore.
Additionally, vinyl reissues are also being mapped out. An update shared by Old Man Gloom‘s Santos Montano on the matter earlier today (August 02nd) reads as follows:
“We are VERY happy to announce that Profound Lore will be reissuing the Zozobra albums Bird of Prey and Harmonic Tremors. It was important to us to make sure Caleb’s music keeps spreading, and gracing the ears of as many people as possible, Not to mention they both just crush, and are beautiful representations of what a ferocious beast of a song writer Caleb was.
Both albums will be back on streaming platforms this Friday, and physical copies will be pressed later on, as we all know about the vinyl pressing bottle neck, but this will be the first official pressing of both albums, besides the tour editions and the Caleb memorial version, which were all very limited.
We’d love to hear and see what these albums mean to you, or any anecdotes from seeing the rare live appearance of any lineup. Please send any longer anecdotes or stories to our DM’s, and shorter ones can be in the comments.
I can’t take this into Santos territory, I’ll make it too silly, so I want to share others takes! Of course I’ll do my own and make it real stupid. Please share, and let’s get the world stoked about ZOZOBRA.
