Thoughtcrimes will have their full-length debut “Altered Pasts” out on August 26th through Pure Noise Records. The mathcore outfit, who are buoyed by the propulsive drumming of ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan member Billy Rymer, have launched a Tom Flynn-directed music video for their new single “Keyhole Romance” to coincide with the album announcement.
Recording sessions for the effort took place under producer Mike Watts and pre-orders for it have been launched here. Speaking of what to expect from the opus, guitarist Brian Sullivan offered:
“‘Altered Pasts‘ was shaped by the world around us and within us at the same. This album is both a reflection and synthesis of our cognitive, emotional and spiritual processes, as well as a catharsis.”
Regarding this newly debuted single, Rymer offered:
“This is possibly the most ambitious track we’ve ever made. We wanted to see how far we could push ourselves utilizing dynamics and pure chaos to cohesively create something disgusting yet beautiful. A concept that lead to the treatment of the music video with the high energy performance segments contrasting with the bright colors and gracefulness of the actress.”
