Slayer's Kerry King

Rumors Emerge Regarding Potential Name Of Ex-Slayer Guitarist Kerry King’s New Band

0

Although already several years in the making, Slayer guitarist Kerry King has kept a fairly tight lid on the details of his new project with fellow Slayer vet, drummer Paul Bostaph. Rumors of Phil Anselmo of Pantera, Down, etc. fame being involved emerged in 2020, but have cooled off in the time since.

Recently King revealed that the mystery band had begun rehearsing together this past spring, leading to a renewed interest in the project. It would seem that one enterprising individual took things a step further and noticed that King registered an LLC company in his then home state of Nevada (he has since relocated to New York City) back in March of 2017.

An LLC, or limited liability company, is a common way for bands to register as a formal business entity, allowing them both risk protection and granting them potential tax benefits. The specified name of that company is ‘Blood Reign‘, which certainly would be fitting as a band name for a former member of Slayer. According to a search of Nevada business records, the entity is currently listed as active.

Whether or not it turns out to be the name of King‘s next musical venture or a business he setup to conduct other business has not yet been publicly disclosed. Slayer themselves would go on to announce the commencement of their farewell tour under a year after King filed the aforementioned trademark.

The legendary thrash metal band would go on to hang it up on November 30th of 2019, ending their impressive career with a final live show at The Forum in Inglewood, CA.
