Clutch Set September Release For Their Thirteenth Studio Album “Sunrise On Slaughter Beach”

Sunrise On Slaughter Beach” has been chosen as the title for the 13th studio album from the perpetually touring blues rockers Clutch. You can expect to get your hands on that record when it releases on September 16th through the band’s own Weathermaker Music.

Recording sessions for this opus took place with Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood) overseeing the production and mixing duties at The Magpie Cage Recording Studio in Baltimore, MD. Jawbox‘s J. Robbins assisted with engineering.

Sunrise On Slaughter Beach” track listing:

01 – “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)
02 – “Slaughter Beach
03 – “Mountain Of Bone
04 – “Nosferatu Madre
05 – “Mercy Brown
06 – “We Strive For Excellence
07 – “Skeletons On Mars
08 – “Three Golden Horns
09 – “Jackhammer Our Names

Pre-orders for the album will be launched shortly. In addition to roadtesting numerous songs from the album well in advance, the group have already dropped a pair of singles from this album, including the album opener “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)“, and more recently, “We Strive For Excellence“.

A few firsts for the band will be featured among some of the new tracks, including vibraphone played by the band’s drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, Theremin from J. Robbins and female backing vocals from Deborah Bond and Frenchie Davis.

While Gaster initially saw the record drawing parallels into the upbeat nature of the band’s 2013 release “Earth Rocker“, it ultimately became a beast of its own. He said of that, “The more the songs took shape, the less I saw that kind of an album. Something different took shape. The record we ended up with is, in some ways, the most different record we’ve made in a long time.”

This fall will find Clutch back on the road for a headlining tour with Helmet and Quicksand rotating as direct support. JD Pinkus of Butthole Surfers, etc. fame will be opening that trek:
