Bassist Diego “Ashes” Ibarra has parted ways with Californian groove metal band, DevilDriver. He had originally joined the outfit back in 2016 as a replacement for Chris Towning.
Ibarra announced his departure via social media yesterday (July 15th), stating:
“Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know I have officially parted ways with DevilDriver it was an honor to play with some of the most talented musicians thus far in my career. I wish DevilDriver the best and look forward to what the future holds and new musical chapters.”
Thus far a replacement for Ibarra has yet to be announced. Last fall DevilDriver announced the departure of guitarist Neal Tiemann from their roster.
While DevilDriver have the second half of their “Dealing With Demons” album in the works, the group have remained quiet amid the pandemic years as frontman Dez Fafara readjusted his priorities after a particularly harrowing battle with COVID-19.
