Max Cavalera‘s long-running groove metal outfit Soulfly have debuted “Filth Upon Filth” as the latest single from their twelfth studio album, “Totem“. Recording sessions for that effort took place at took place at Platinum Underground in Mesa, AZ with Max and Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Cavalera Conspiracy) splitting up the production duties.
As for this current single, the group have roadtested it for nearly a year in advance, meaning there’s a chance you may have heard it live or caught a live video of it in prior. Max had the following to say about this single and its accompanying animated music video, which was crafted by Costin Chioreanu:
“‘Filth Upon Filth‘ was the first track unleashed to the Tribe last year. Costin has created an amazing, savage rendition of the song! This is a song made by a Headbanger, for Headbangers!”
Nuclear Blast will release “Totem” on August 05th.
