Dance Gavin Dance Enlist Veil Of Maya’s Marc Okubo For Newly Announced Summer North American Tour

0

Dance Gavin Dance have announced their new summer headlining touring plans in the wake of being replaced by Alkaline Trio on their previously announced run with Coheed And Cambria. Dance Gavin Dance‘s removal from that trek came about after their vocalist Tilian Pearson stepped down from the band to seek professional help after a pair of sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against him.

The group have opted to continue on without him, having lined up their guitarist Andrew Wells to take over the clean singing duties. The group’s former vocalist Kurt Travis (now of Royal Coda) will also join the group for select songs during this newly announced trek. With Wells busy behind the mic, Veil Of Maya‘s Marc Okubo has been recruited to fill-in on guitars.

Dance Gavin Dance drummer Matt Mingus commented:

“We are very pleased to announce our exciting & intimate headlining tour, ‘An Evening With Friends.’

Last month, unfortunately, and not by our choice, we were made aware that we could not perform on the summer tour we had been looking forward to for the past year. We were lucky enough to get the support from our partners to help curate a last-minute headline tour hitting most of the cities we already planned on performing in.

It’s yet another obstacle put in our way that we are willing and able to overcome. While change can sometimes be challenging to adapt to, we are optimistic and looking towards the future with our heads held high and a fantastic new album to celebrate. We look forward to seeing you this summer.”

Tickets for this newly announced tour, which will feature Royal Coda and Body Thief as support, will go on sale this coming Thursday, June 30th at 10:00am local time. Dance Gavin Dance will be out touring on their forthcoming album, “Jackpot Juicer“, out July 29th on Rise Records.
