While Faith No More had existed in several incarnations for a number of years prior, it was their platinum-selling, Grammy nominated 1989 third studio album “The Real Thing” that truly put them on the map and catapulted them to mainstream success.

Their first studio record with vocalist Mike Patton at the helm, the hit single “Epic” would go on to propel the band to a level of commercial success they’ve not seen since, while also unintentionally laying down a solid foundation for what would become the genre of nü-metal.
