Grey Daze have launched a video for their song “Drag” to accompany their just released new album, “The Phoenix“. That effort finds the group’s surviving members having re-recorded 10 songs they wrote back in the 1990s with their late vocalist Chester Bennington, who had yet to go on to find fame fronting the ultra-successful Linkin Park.
These songs were revisited in the studio with the blessing of Bennington‘s family. His daughters are even among the featured guest performers. Speaking of “Drag“, the band’s drummer Sean Dowdell commented:
“‘Drag‘ is a very dark and droning heavy track, but the underlying message is really special. Chester is telling us, literally, that life is too short to be intoxicated, life is too short to be a drag. It is a song that gives any listener with a substance abuse past something to feel good about, something to help pull themselves out of that dark place.”
