0

Following a round of multi-platinum certifications for their “Minutes To Midnight” album and its singles earlier this month, nü-metal’s most commercially successful outfit Linkin Park have notched up a few more certifications. Today (May 19th) saw the RIAA certify two singles from the group’s seventh studio album, “One More Light“. That record was their last with their late frontman Chester Bennington and was released five years ago today.

That album’s first single “Heavy“, which features guest vocals from Kiiara, has just been certified both platinum and 2x multi-platinum. It had previously gone gold in August of 2017. Additionally, the title track for “One More Light“, was also newly certified platinum, having previously gone gold in February of 2019. It was released as the final single from that record.

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
