Sepultura Tap Angra Drummer Bruno Valverde As Fill-In Drummer For Current Tour

Brazilian metal legends Sepultura have announced that Angra‘s Bruno Valverde will be filling in on drums for the remainder of the band’s current North American tour. Valverde was tapped for the trek in light of Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande recently breaking his leg in a fall off of the stage.

As a result of the transition, the group have been forced to cancel their appearance at tonight’s (April 05th) date of the tour in Phoenix, AZ. They expect to rejoin the bill in San Diego, CA tomorrow. A statement issued by the band earlier today reads as follows:

“Sepulnation, bad news! Eloy Casagrande has severely injured his leg which forces him to leave the tour and go home for proper treatment and to be close to his family. Please wish him all the best and a speedy recovery!! We have been lucky enough that Bruno Valverde (Angra) is able to replace Eloy for the last three shows of the North American tour.

Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel tonight’s show. The show will still happen with Sacred Reich, Crowbar, and Art of Shock.

We will continue the tour this Wednesday in San Diego, hope to see you there!”

The remaining dates for the band’s tour with Sacred Reich, Crowbar and Art Of Shock include:

04/05 Phoenix, AZ – The Nile Theater (no Sepultura)
04/06 San Diego, CA – House Of Blues
04/08 Los Angeles, CA – Belasco Theater
04/09 Berkeley, CA – The UC Theatre
