Former Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext has been forging ahead with his solo career following a bitter dispute with his ex-bandmates and label that was resolved last October in a legal settlement. Vext, who is currently billing himself as ‘The Lone Wolf’, dropped his new track “Trust The Science” late last month with conservative rapper/commentator Topher guesting.
Expectedly, the song finds Vext & Topher passionately expressing some of their more controversial views. It touches upon various conspiracy theories surrounding the pandemic and its origins, as well as the restrictions of certain freedoms put in place amid the outbreak.
Prior to exiting Bad Wolves in early 2021, Vext had become increasingly expressive of his various right-wing leaning political views and conspiracy theory beliefs—opinions which sowed division amongst the band’s fanbase. His departure also closely followed the legal resolution of a domestic violence case against him filed by a former girlfriend that concluded in late 2020.
The lyrics for this latest song, “Trust The Science“, as provided by Vext himself via YouTube, can be found below along with the song’s official music video. Speaking of the meaning behind it, he offered:
“‘Trust The Science‘ is for all intensive purposes a protest anthem. It’s a reflection of the damage that happens when people follow blind leaders for solutions that end up causing more harm than good. The song is also a homage to hospital workers and first responders who were unconventionally fired from their jobs for not participating in a mass medical experiment. We see you and we honor your integrity and sacrifice.”
According to Vext, the song is part of his new album “Grand Theft Audio“, which he described as: “the most personal and outspoken piece of work of my career. Just getting this album to see the light of day after cancel culture attempts to destroy my life.”
He later added, “The best art is made when artists represent the voice of the people. Now is our time to be heard.”
