Billy Howerdel, the multi-instrumentalist behind platinum-certified alternative metal outfit A Perfect Circle and progressive rock outfit ASHES dIVIDE, has issued his debut solo track “Poison Flowers“.
This new offering saw Howerdel tackle all aspects of the instrumentation sans the drumming, which was handled by Josh Freese (ex-A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, etc.). You can check out the digital release of “Poison Flowers” below, while Howerdel had the following to say about it:
“‘Poison Flowers‘ began with the bass guitar part and all of the pieces flowed from there. It’s a rare feeling when the process of writing blocks out all distractions. The upcoming songs reflect back to my earliest influences and ‘Poison Flowers‘ leads well into the rest of the album.”
Release plans for Howerdel‘s as-yet untitled debut album remain under wraps for now, but it is expected to arrive later this year through Alchemy Recordings/BMG.
