Spiritbox have partnered with Z2 Comics for a new graphic novel that shares the name with their debut album, “Eternal Blue“. Jim Krueger was tasked with writing the book, while Amilcar Pinna took on the bulk of the illustrative duties. Justin Cherry was tasked with creating the cover. A June 2022 release is expected with pre-orders available now here. Among the options available is an elaborate limited-edition version of the book also comes with a functional ‘Spiritbox‘ to house the set in.
An official plot summary for the graphic novel offered by Z2 Comics reads:
“Eva is a popular painter on the verge of unbelievable acclaim and success, but her inability to reconcile the public perception of who she is, versus her actual self, allows the Spiritbox to transport her to a surreal world, where she finds herself trapped in the realm where all our false shadows become real and dangerous.”
The band’s vocalist Courtney LaPlante offered:
“I am in love with this story and artwork. I cannot wait for you to discover Eva and the world that she has been thrust into. It truly is an extension of my feelings and the state of mind I held while writing our album … and the lyrics that resonate with me still.
Although we are very different, I can’t help but let a lot of myself seep into Eva’s personality and experiences. I care about her so much. Jim and Amilcar are brilliant and we are so happy to share this with you after keeping it to ourselves for so long.”
