Nestled among the eight songs that comprise Author & Punisher‘s newly released album “Krüller” are contributions from the rhythm section of the ever-enigmatic progressive metal outfit, Tool. Tristan Shone, mastermind of the industrial powerhouse known as Author & Punisher, recruited Danny Carey (drums) and Justin Chancellor (bass) from that revered multi-platinum group to play on separate tracks.
Those tracks further the relationship between the two bands, after having hit it off while on tour together several years back. Their mutual respect event led to a live collaboration between Shone & Chancellor.
Below you can hear Tool‘s percussive virtuoso Danny Carey guest on the song “Misery“, while Chancellor adds his distinctive low end to the track “Centurion“. Today’s (February 11th) release of “Krüller” was complemented by a music video for the song “Incinerator” (watch it here.)
