Melvins Release Cover Of Soundgarden’s “Spoonman” With Matt Cameron Guesting On Drums


Washington alternative metal legends Melvins have released their take on the legendary grunge band Soundgarden‘s 1994 single “Spoonman“. The band enlisted the aforementioned band’s own drummer Matt Cameron to appear on this cover, having him performing double drum-duty alongside their own Dale Crover.

Melvins themselves previously covered this very song live at the 2019 ‘I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell‘ concert. A video for their newly released studio take on the “Superunknown” hit has been made available below.

The cover is taken from a newly released EP from Melvins titled “Lord Of The Flies“. It features two new tracks and two covers (the other being a medley of Led Zeppelin‘s “Misty Mountain Hop” and Devo‘s “Uncontrollable Urge“).
