A new Ho99o9 single by the name of “Battery Not Included” produced by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker received its online debut today, January 20th. A music video for that track, which was shot by Tyler Bradberry, has newly made its way online below.
According to this new interview with Kerrang!, the song is a precursor to the group’s forthcoming new album, which Barker also produced. While the band weren’t ready to divulge release details for that outing yet, they did reveal that Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor will be guesting on it.
His involvement follows Ho99o9 previously sampling two of Slipknot‘s tracks on their song “Mega City Nine“. While the band didn’t get permission to sample those tracks, they did get the support of Taylor, as Ho99o9‘s theOGM told Kerrang!:
“We was tripping on that, because we made that song like, ‘Yo, these Slipknot songs are fire – we just gonna rip these songs and put it out and we don’t give a fuck what happens. If they hear it and somebody’s like, ’Take it down!’ then we’ll take it down.’ But even that would have been cool, you know what I’m saying? But he [Corey Taylor] loved it.”
Ho99o9‘s Yeti Bones added:
“He found it and he embraced it. Jason [Christopher, bassist for Corey Taylor and more] was like, ‘My boy Corey is gonna hit you up!’ and I got a text. It was just mind-blowing that he texted me! I was just like, ‘Yo shit! What the fuck?!’”
