In what is perhaps a silver lining to the COIVD-19 pandemic, the relative downtime and absence from touring cycles has given Crosses (†††) the time to focus on their next proper release, with the group having recently signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Records. The outfit’s core duo of Deftones, etc. frontman Chino Moreno and Shaun Lopez of Far, etc. fame have been spotted in the studio sporadically this year working on new music, with more details regarding it still to come.
Today (December 22nd) Lopez announced that the group had entered a new worldwide deal with Warner Bros., having previously put out their 2014 self-titled debut album (and EPs) on Sumerian Records. The acclaimed outfit previously broke their six-year silence on Christmas Eve of last year, releasing a cover of Cause And Effect‘s “The Beginning Of The End“. That track marked the first new music to emerge from the group since their aforementioned debut album.
Speaking via social media today, Lopez said of the band’s new label home:
“Very happy to announce that @crossesmusic recently signed a worldwide deal with @warnerrecords. Looking forward to working with such an amazing crew. Hi fives to the bro @chinowmoreno, we did it . Shout out to our manager @jamesthrogmorton for leading the way. Also, big thanks to @joe_pepin for always believing in me. Last but certainly not least, the dynamic duo that really run the damn show, the wives @amychance @risamoramoreno. Appreciate u ❤️”
