Daughters Vocalist Alexis Marshall Denies Abuse/Rape Allegations Made Against Him By Lingua Ignota

Daughters vocalist Alexis Marshall has responded to the allegations publicly put forth against him in recent months by Lingua Ignota, aka Kristin Hayter. Following some allegations made by Hayter on social media this past October and during a podcast appearance this month, Hayter released a lengthy statement earlier today, detailing allegations of rape, mental abuse and more she claims that Marshall committed during their past relationship together.

Contacted today by Pitchfork, a representative for Daughters relayed the following statement on Marshall‘s behalf:

“I absolutely did not engage in any form of abusive behavior towards Kristin. Kristin is a person that I loved and cared deeply for, however, our relationship was unhealthy for both of us. I can assure anyone reading this that I absolutely did not abuse her, mentally or physically. I am investigating legal options.”

Hayter‘s statement, which can be read directly here, alleged that Marshall‘s abusive behavior and “multiple sexual assaults/rapes” at one point even left her severely injured, requiring surgery. She also stated that the abuse she claims to have suffered led her to attempt suicide in December of 2020.
