Refused are tentatively planning to begin laying down their sixth studio album around the close of 2022. The band’s frontman Dennis Lyxzén spoke of their plans in regards to that during a recent appearance on ‘The Sailor Jerry Podcast‘, which is hosted by The Bronx‘s Matt Caughthran.
Lyxzén also addressed his current slate of projects, which includes a new INVSN record dubbed “Let The Night Love You” (due out in the spring,) more material from Fake Names and a fledgling punk project that finds him playing guitar with INVSN‘s Sara Almgren. When it came to Refused, he offered, “Refused has started writing songs, so I’m hoping maybe the end of next year we’ll do some recording and stuff.”
Ahead of that will be the newly announced 25th anniversary edition of Refused‘s 1996 sophomore album, “Songs To Fan The Flames Of Discontent“. That expanded effort will be out on vinyl in Europe on February 11th with a U.S. pressing set to follow in the summer of 2022.
