Japanese experimental rock band Boris are gearing up to release their 27th studio album “W” on January 21st through Sacred Bones. A music video for the first single “Drowning By Numbers” precedes that effort, having newly gone up online today, November 30th.
A direct continuation of 2020’s “No“, “W” will pick up where that album left off, opening with the melody of the “No” closing track “Interlude“. “W” also finds the band’s guitarist/vocalist Wata taking on all of the lead vocal duties.
Regarding this newly released single, the band offered:
“This video was filmed at a private showcase with limited invitation in April of 2021. It is a collaborative performance with a contemporary dance team. The song was transformed from its original performance and visualized; a big hat dances symbolically at the beginning of the new album.”
