Canadian hardcore outfit Comeback Kid have premiered the title track to their seventh studio album “Heavy Steps“. That album is due out January 21st on Nuclear Blast/New Damage Records. Vocalist Andrew Neufeld said of the single:

“I think of our new single ‘Heavy Steps‘ as a bold statement of a riff right off the bat, and lyrically coming from an unhinged perspective about tearing through life. Instinct over reason – without even realizing how easily our worlds could implode from under our feet. A bit of a “just test me” type sentiment is being echoed in this song.”

The below new Kevin Keegan directed music video for the track picks up where the band’s previous video, “No Easy Way Out” left off. This album was recorded at Private Ear Recording in Winnipeg, MB with John Paul Peters (Cancer Bats, Propagandhi) producing. Will Putney (Every Time I Die, Body Count) mixed the affair.

Speaking of the inspiration behind the album’s title, Neufeld added, “It’s about hitting the ground running, not knowing when or where the ground could break from underneath you. “It’s heavy steps on thin ice. ‘Heavy Steps‘ on hollow ground.” Pre-orders for “Heavy Steps” can be found here.
