Veil Of Maya Reveal They Scrapped The Majority Of The New Album They Recorded Back In 2019

Back in 2019 Veil Of Maya were shown to be in the studio working on new music with producer Taylor Larson (Periphery, Darkest Hour) for what was expected to be their seventh studio album. Fast-forward to now and a proper follow-up to 2017’s “False Idol” has still yet to arrive sans a few new tracks, including the band’s newly debuted single “Outrun“.

According to the group’s guitarist Marc Okubo, the reason for the relative delay of their new record comes from the band having decided to scrap much of what they had previously recorded for it. In a tweet shared earlier today, October 08th Okubo explained:

“We made a new album in 2019. Because of the actions of certain individuals, it left a bad taste in our mouth and we didn’t think it was worth salvaging. We have deleted the majority of it and have been recording material that we are more happy with. Now we’re on tour. 💚”

The band are currently out winding down a run of shows with Dance Gavin Dance, Polyphia, Eidola and more.
