Metallica‘s headlining performance last night (September 26th) at the ‘Louder Than Life‘ festival in Louisville, KY saw the legendary thrash metal band perform their celebrated 16x multi-platinum 1991 self-titled album (aka ‘The Black Album‘) in full. The band opted for a bit of a twist however, running through the landmark record reverse order. The setlist for the night ran as follows:

“Of Wolf And Man”

That set marked the first time several of those tracks (“The Struggle Within“, “My Friend Of Misery” and “Don’t Tread On Me“) were played live since 2012-2013. Metallica also performed a separate, more traditional set at the aforementioned festival on September 24th. The ‘Black Album‘ officially turned 30 this year and was recently celebrated with the release of a deluxe box set edition earlier this month.
