Godsmack have newly scored a trio of gold records in the United States. Announced by the RIAA today, September 27th, are the gold certifications of the band’s 2018 album “When Legends Rise” along with two of its singles: the title track and “Under Your Scars“. These latest awards aren’t the only hardware that album has picked up though as the record’s lead single “Bulletproof” previously went gold in May of 2019 and platinum in October of 2020.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
