Metallica have been booked to appear and perform on next Friday’s (September 10th) episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘. Their appearance will center around the band’s impending deluxe box set release of their 16x multi-platinum 1991 self-titled album (aka “The Black Album“) which will be out the same day. A guest-filled tribute album to that effort titled “The Metallica Blacklist” will also be out on the 10th.
Speaking ahead of their appearance Metallica offered:
“Our friend Jimmy Kimmel has kindly invited us to join him once again on Friday, September 10th to celebrate the reissue of ‘The Black Album.’ It’s been almost five years since we last connected, so we’re really looking forward to rolling into LA to chat with Jimmy and play live…there may be a few surprises too!”
While you wait for all of that, the group also debuted the third episode of their ‘The Metallica Podcast‘ today, September 03rd. The first eight episodes of that series have been devoted to ‘The Black Album‘.
