Metallica Share Early Take On “My Friend Of Misery” & Kamasi Washington’s New Cover

It’s Metallica time once again as more offerings from the band’s deluxe box set edition of their 1991 self-titled album (aka “The Black Album“) and its accompanying tribute album “The Metallica Blacklist” have newly debuted.

Up first from “The Black Album” set is rough demo for the album track “My Friend Of Misery“, which is described as being from the ‘riff tapes’ of the band’s bassist at the time Jason Newsted. It will appear on the 2-CD “Riffs & Demos” portion of the aforementioned box set.

Representing “The Metallica Blacklist” this week we have Kamasi Washington‘s take on the final studio version of “My Friend Of Misery“. You may recall that Metallica‘s own Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo joined Washington onstage to cover this very track live back in July.
