Ether Coven (Remembering Never, Etc.) Surprise Release New EP “Language Is The Instrument Of The Empire”

Ether Coven surprise released a new EP today by the title of “Language Is The Instrument Of The Empire“. The three-song effort emerges on the band’s own label Horned & Blind. The songs included upon it were notably penned prior to the band’s 2020 release, “Everything Is Temporary Except Suffering“.

Guitarist/vocalist Peter Kowalsky commented of the EP’s title & theme:

“It’s a quote that the Spanish colonialists lived by when they wanted to fully conquer a people. This EP is a harsh critique of normalization and the culture it protects. We never question much about our culture which is harmful to our health and happiness.”

Contributions from Eva Hall (Power Alone, ex-Gather). Brian Hillhouse (Seraphim, Seraph/The Light & The Animal’s Comfort) and David Paul (Fero Lux, Ljesus) appear on the outing. In addition to being available digitally, you can also pick it up on vinyl and cassette. The band have also teamed up with XVX Soap Co for a limited edition soap and artwork collab that will benefit Shelter Farm Sanctuary. You can find that here.

Kowalsky has been battling stage 3 colon cancer over the past year and was most recently revealed to be in remission. You can help out with his battle over at GoFundMe.
