Ex-Megadeth Bassist David Ellefson Planning To File Lawsuit Against Leaker Of His Sexually Explicit Videos

David Ellefson, who up until recently had once again been serving as the bassist in the band he co-founded, Megadeth, has issued a new statement in regards to the sexually explicit video scandal that cost him his role in the band.

Earlier this month several sexually explicit videos of Ellefson pleasuring himself amid online video chats emerged. The initial leaker of those videos alleged that Ellefson had been participating in those videos with an underage fan.

Ellefson for his part denied those allegations, while also providing a statement from a woman he claims was the other participant in said videos. Now speaking with, Ellefson has revealed that he is pursuing legal action against the person who leaked the videos. He stated:

“Recently, a very private video was illegally posted on the internet and false allegations were made against me. The actions in the video were between two consenting adults and were recorded without my knowledge.

I am working with Scottsdale Police Department in their investigation into charges regarding revenge pornography to be filed against the person who posted this video. Also, my lawyers are preparing a defamation lawsuit to be filed against this person.

This person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I am taking this time to be with my family. I wish my bandmates the best with their upcoming tour.”

Megadeth fired Ellefson over the incident earlier this week as a result of the videos.
