Obsidious (Ex-Obscura), Blood Red Throne, Blind Channel & Respire Sign New Label Deals

Obsidious (pictured above), who feature former Obscura members Linus Klausenitzer (bass), Rafael Tujillo (guitars) and Sebastian Lanser (drums), have signed with Season Of Mist. The group’s lineup is completed by vocalist Javi Perera and the band will have their debut album out in early 2022. They commented of that:

“We are beyond excited to finally share our first song ‘Iconic’, with the world! This release is the true beginning of our journey as Obsidious that started 14 months ago. As the first-ever song we wrote with Obsidious, ‘Iconic‘ is all about our mission to push the boundaries of metal music while showcasing all the different aspects and nuances representing us as a group. We pour our hearts and minds into this band to leave our mark with the wonderful global modern metal community.”

Season Of Mist CEO Michael Berberian added:

“As a long life long obscura fan, it was obsious that I had to sign Obsidious, a band that is fresh and not obsolete, and I will observe how things will progress, without any of the 2020 touring obstruction and fingers crossed no new obscene new disease.”

Blood Red Throne

Blood Red Throne

Norwegian death metal outfit Blood Red Throne have signed with Nuclear Blast Records and are making plans to release their already recorded new album through the label later this year. The band’s guitarist Daniel “Død” Olaisen commented:

“Becoming a part of the NB family has been a huge goal for me for years. I always felt BRT deserved better after all these years and when I got to meet Gerardo Martinez (USA General Manager) and Oscar Martinez (Product Manager) when we toured the US 11 years ago, I kept in touch with them and tried to convince signing us even back then.

Years went and albums were released and I never gave up. I knew we had a real masterpiece this time with the new album, and Gerado simply could not let it go this time. When he sent over the contract, both the band and especially myself were super excited and satisfied. Finally, after 10 years of trying! This band has so much potential and what better option than Nuclear Blast to team up with!”

He added:

“BRT still delivers quality death metal, but even after writing the first song, we felt that we were on to something new this time. Of course, it’s still death metal, but some of the riffs and arrangements introduce something new for us at least. 10 bad ass tracks wrapped in a killer production, we really can’t wait to show our old fans as well as gaining new ones. Death metal will never die and we will keep going til the end!”
